DWS Driver Training – School Terms & Conditions (April 2026)
1. General
By booking lessons with DWS Driver Training, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are in place to ensure a professional, safe, and fair experience for all learners.
2. Eligibility to Drive
All pupils must:
- Hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence
- Be legally entitled to drive in the UK
- Be able to meet the required eyesight standards
- Inform the instructor of any medical conditions that may affect driving
The instructor reserves the right to request proof of licence at any time.
3. Lesson Bookings & Payments
- All lessons must be booked in advance and are subject to availability
- Payment must be made in advance or at the start of each lesson unless agreed otherwise
- Block bookings must be paid in full prior to the first lesson
- Lesson duration and frequency will be agreed between instructor and pupil
4. Cancellations & Missed Lessons
- A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson
- Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in the lesson being charged in full
- If a pupil does not attend a lesson, the full lesson fee will apply
5. Instructor Cancellations
The instructor may need to cancel or rearrange lessons due to:
- Illness
- Vehicle issues
- Traffic or unforeseen circumstances
Where possible, as much notice as possible will be given and lessons will be rescheduled.
6. Punctuality
- If a pupil is late, the lesson will still finish at the scheduled time
- If a pupil is significantly late, the lesson may be cancelled and charged
7. Driving Tests
- Pupils are responsible for booking their own driving test
- Use of the instructor’s vehicle for the test is at the instructor’s discretion
- The instructor reserves the right to refuse use of the vehicle if the pupil is not test-ready
8. Behaviour & Fitness to Drive
Lessons will not proceed if a pupil:
- Is under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Is unwell or unable to drive safely
- Behaves in a dangerous or inappropriate manner
In such cases, the lesson fee will still be payable.
9. Liability
DWS Driver Training will not be held responsible for:
- Test cancellations or delays by the DVSA
- Loss or damage to personal belongings
- Any third-party incidents caused by unsafe or negligent behaviour
10. Block Bookings & Refunds
- Block bookings are non-refundable once lessons have commenced
- Any unused lessons may be refunded at the instructor’s discretion
- Lessons taken may be charged at the standard hourly rate if a block is cancelled early
11. Use of Instructor’s Vehicle
Use of the instructor’s vehicle for lessons or tests is subject to:
- Availability
- Payment being up to date
- The instructor’s assessment of the pupil’s readiness
12. Changes to Terms
DWS Driver Training reserves the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on the website.
